Make a Will Month

Protect what matters most with our Make a Will Month

Details of our next Make a Will Month will be published in 2026, please keep checking back for more information, and in the meantime view our helpful resources below about the importance of making a Will.

Make a Will Month is our annual campaign when local solicitors kindly give their time to help you write or update a basic Will. Instead of solicitor fees, many choose to make a donation and pledge a gift in their Will. It’s an opportunity to plan for the future and support your community in one go.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our participating solicitors who kindly gave their time free of charge to support our Make a Will Month which took place in March 2025. We would also like to say thank you to our supporters who took part in the scheme and to those who made a donation to Herriot Hospice Homecare both in gratitude for their appointment or as a gift in their Will.

During Make a Will Month in March 2025, we team up with Hana Gwyn of LCF Law LLP, one of our participating solicitors, to bring you a video Q&A of the most common questions about making and updating your Will, plus the benefits of leaving a gift in your Will to Herriot Hospice Homecare. Watch the video below.

Find out more about making a Will:  Read our helpful FAQs on why having a Will and appropriate estate planning is important. Your gift can make a difference for years to come: Did you know, 1 in 3 of our patients is cared for thanks to a gift left in a Will. Once you have taken care of your family and friends in your Will, consider leaving a gift to Herriot Hospice Homecare to ensure future generations will have access to our services. Even a gift of 1% of your estate once you have provided for your chosen family will help us make sure our hospice is there for everyone who needs it.
