At the heart of hospice care

Our volunteers are at the heart of almost everything we do. We have plenty of interesting and rewarding volunteering opportunities available. So, if you can offer a few hours a week to help us, we’d love to hear from you. Full training and support is provided.

There are lots of ways to support

Fundraising and community volunteers

Help us raise funds and awareness for Herriot Hospice Homecare

The ideal role if you can only offer help on an occasional basis - be part of a team we can call on to help support us at our events. You might be handing out refreshments on a fundraising hike, staffing a stall at a Christmas fair, marshaling at a fundraising event or collecting in a shopping centre.

Start a volunteer fundraising group in your community

Can you get together with friends, neighbours and colleagues to form one of our successful volunteer fundraising groups?
You could hold a regular coffee morning, a sponsored walk or something else - we'll give you lots of inspiration, support and materials to help you hold fun and rewarding events to raise funds for us.

Volunteer Complementary Therapist

This is an exciting time for Herriot as we launch a new Complementary Therapy service for all our patients and their main carers. We are seeking to recruit volunteer complementary therapists with experience of working with seriously unwell patients, and who are able to offer any or all of the following treatments: aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, reiki and hypnotherapy. We aim to be able to deliver treatments to patients in The Lambert's (opening later this year) in-patient unit, for out-patients and in the patients’ own homes.
