At the heart of hospice care

Our volunteers are at the heart of almost everything we do. We have plenty of interesting and rewarding volunteering opportunities available. So, if you can offer a few hours a week to help us, we'd love to hear from you. Full training and support is provided.

Community Hub refreshments

Help serve food and drinks to patients, clients and members of the community at Herriot Hospice@The Lambert in Thirsk.

Complementary Therapists

Offer expert skills in massage, reiki, hypnotherapy or aromatherapy to give patients and loved ones a relaxing experience. This could be in patients' homes or from Herriot Hospice@The Lambert.

Fundraising

Help out at our exciting events such as Light up a Life or Herriot Hike, collect collection boxes from supporting businesses or even start your own fundraising group.

Charity shops

Volunteer with our retail team on the till, sorting stock, creating displays or even listing items online.

Wellbeing

Provide reliable social and emotional support. Volunteer support can range from help with simply being there with people in their own homes and listening, to a short drive or walk out. Volunteers can also assist with light practical tasks such as gardening, or a lift to an appointment.

Bereavement support

Join our Just 'B' emotional and wellbeing team supporting adults and young people.
