Funeral and memorial collections

Thank you for thinking of supporting Herriot Hospice and local hospice care through your loved one’s funeral, memorial service or celebration of life.

Donations given in memory by family and friends will help us continue providing compassionate care and support to other local people and their chosen families when they need us the most. Last year, more than £80,000 was donated to the charity through funeral and memorial collections. This incredible generosity could fund the equivalent of more than 3,800 hours of nursing care.

Let us know about your collection

If you are planning a funeral or memorial collection for Herriot Hospice, you can let our Supporter Care Team know in advance by calling 01423 878 628 or emailing supportercare@herriothh.org.uk.

We can arrange any materials you need, answer any questions and look out for donations arriving in the weeks following the service, so that we can confirm they have been safely received.

Ways to send in your donations to us

• Online – visit our donation page and include details of the memorial service in the event name.
• Through your tribute fund – online donations can be made directly to the page and any donations collected offline can also be added.
• In person – you are welcome to bring your collection to the hospice between 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri.
• By post or by phone – please call our Supporter Care Team on 01423 878 628 if you would like more details on sending your collection to us.

How we work with funeral directors

If your funeral director is paying in donations collected at the service on your behalf, they’ll often do this through our website page or through the post. Once we receive the collection, we’ll send a receipt and thanks for your funeral director to pass onto you, or if they have shared your contact details with us for this purpose, we’ll send this directly to you.

As we may not always know in advance that a collection is coming, please don’t worry if you haven’t heard from us straight away. If you are expecting confirmation and haven’t received it, our Supporter Care Team will be very happy to check whether your collection has arrived.
