Established by local people in Northallerton in 1992, Herriot is the local hospice care charity supporting people affected by terminal illness across the Hambleton and Richmondshire districts of North Yorkshire.
No-one should have to face terminal illness alone – and we’re here alongside local people and their families when they need us most.
Herriot is part of independent charity North Yorkshire Hospice Care, a family of services which include Just ‘B’ and Saint Michael’s Hospice. Together we offer vital hospice care, emotional wellbeing and bereavement support to local communities across North Yorkshire, as well as specialist services regionally and nationally. As an independent charity, the majority of Herriot Hospice Homecare’s care is funded by the generous support of our local communities.
We believe everyone has the right to high quality, personalised care and support, when and where they need it, and our services are free to those who need them, and are funded by donations and support from our communities.
Our district is made up of remote and rural communities, and we reach out to where care is needed, offering a range of services across 1,000 square miles of Hambleton and Richmondshire.
We recognise and support each person as an individual with unique journeys, experiences and needs; and we’re passionate about ensuring everyone can access care that is personalised and responsive to their individual needs, regardless of their age, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or social circumstances, and without discrimination.
