Car parking

We have limited car parking at Herriot Hospice@The Lambert. Those visiting who are able to are asked to park in Thirsk Town Centre, and if they can, walk to the facility. Those who aren’t able to can use our on-site car park for up to two hours while using our facility. This is on a first come, first served basis.

During out of hours – which includes after 6pm and before 8am, as well as all day on weekends and bank holidays – our surrounding GP practices have kindly allowed our visitors and staff to use their car parks.

Public transport

Thirsk is served by public transport from towns and cities including York, Northallerton and Ripon. View North Yorkshire Council’s public transport information.

Patient Transport Service

If you are an outpatient visiting for an appointment, and you do not have anybody who can bring you, you may be eligible to contact the Patient Transport Service on 0300 330 2000. You will be asked some questions about your transport and medical needs to see whether you qualify for the service before they can arrange transport with you.
