Charity Shop Volunteers
In November 2012 we opened the doors of our first ever charity shop. Over the last year and a half we have grown from strength to strength and now we have seven charity shops, in Northallerton, Thirsk, Stokesley, Catterick Garrison, Masham, Richmond and Bedale.
Can you help us create a safe and welcoming environment in our community stores. Are you able to give up one morning or afternoon a week, to help in one of our charity shops?
We are looking for some exra support for our new Donation Drop Off Point in Northallerton (Unit 3, Omega Business Village, Thurston Road, Northallerton, DL6 2NJ). This temporary centralised approach to donations is for the safety of our customers, volunteers and staff and to ensure the quarantine of all donated goods for 48 hours (in line with updated government guidelines). Days of operation are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-4pm.
We are also looking for volunteer drivers to help transport stock from the warehouse to our shops.
Edward Carter - Shop and Office Volunteer
"I volunteer for two afternoons each week for Herriot Hospice Homecare. On Mondays, I work in the office and on a Friday, I work in the charity shop. I enjoy working alongside the staff and other volunteers, as I get to meet lots of new people. There is always a friendly atmosphere.
I chose to volunteer for Herriot as it’s a charity which helps local people."
