Shirley Allen - Bereavement Counsellor
"Volunteering for me means being able to give something back to the local community and to the valuable Herriot Bereavement Service. Our counsellors are often heard to say that it is a privilege to meet so many lovely people and to help them through their struggle with bereavement, enriching their own lives as well as those of their clients.
The lack of equivalent services in the area makes it more significant to be a part of a valuable service for Hambleton and Richmondshire. We all feel very supported by the Herriot team in what otherwise is an isolated profession."
