We are always mindful of the environmental impact of our events and we offer a ‘no T-shirt’ option where we will donate to our charities on your behalf. Please note you need to enter by 31st January 2025 to guarantee a T-shirt. Avoid disappointment and enter before this date.
Race route The 10 mile race starts on Newsham Road, taking in Sandhutton, Busby Stoop and Carlton Miniott before finishing back at the racecourse. Map of course on club website, mile markers around the course. We are taking the opportunity to look at improvements to the route based on 2024 feedback and we will update this information with any changes. The route will be measured formally by England Athletics and a new course record will be up for grabs!
Instructions for start Please do not warm up on the racecourse itself. Please assemble in front of the grandstand 20 mins before the race as directed by race marshals. You will be walked to the start. You may wish to wear a disposable bin bag or the like if the weather is cold. These will be collected after the race starts. Supporters wishing to see the start of the race will need to be well up Newsham Road.
Do’s and Don’ts Please keep to the left and follow instructions from marshals. The roads will be open to traffic in some places and headphones (including bone conductors or similar) MUST NOT be worn. Anyone using headphones will be disqualified and their time will not be included in the results. You are responsible for your own safety and have a duty of care to other runners.

Dogs are not allowed in either race. Pushchairs are not allowed. Please do not drop litter around the course.

Water stations At approx. 3 miles and 6 miles and at the finish.
Cut-off time To ensure we get the right balance between including everyone and managing road safety, we are introducing a cutoff time of 75 minutes at the 5-mile marker this year. Any entrants not making the cut-off time may not be allowed to complete the race. As a guide, this is roughly 2.5 hours total for the 10 miles (this was comfortably achieved by all entrants in 2024).
Finish On the racecourse. You should be aware that there is a sharp left turn into the racecourse just before the finish. Water is available beyond the finish. Please pass through the finish area quickly to make room for others.
Prizes, prize giving and results Prize giving for the Thirsk 10 Race will be as soon as possible after 12:15pm.

We offer a generous prize policy with prizes for the first 5 male and female overall runners, age category prizes and some spot prizes.

Results available at www.ukresults.net and will also be posted onto the this webpage, https://tasharriers.club/thirsk10/

Refunds, deferrals, transfers Apologies but there are no refunds or deferrals. The good news is that if you unfortunately cannot make the race then you can transfer your entry to another runner up to 14 days before the race. Get in touch via rdthirsk10@tasharriers.club
