Community and Challenge Fundraiser Saint Michael’s

Location: Harrogate

Salary: £21,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Saint Michael's Hospice, part of Harrogate District Hospice Care, is currently looking for an inspirational fundraiser who will bring drive and passion to this challenging but very rewarding role.

The ideal candidate will have an ability to build relationships and raise money from businesses, groups and the local community. A key aspect of the role will be to support, manage and empower volunteers to ensure the success of external events in order to achieve budget aspirations. Another key aspect of the role is the development and growth of Saint Michael’s challenge events and activities including the stewardship of all challenge participants.

Skills in influencing, persuading and selling, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are key to this role. Excellent organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines as well as project management. The role will require the ability to work to challenging targets and within budgets. Understanding of law relating to fundraising and health and safety are required as part of this busy and exciting role along with a willingness to work flexibly; to travel independently to local events and work occasional evenings and weekends.

We are looking for an individual with tenacity, who will make things happen through persistence, enthusiasm, knowledge and lateral thinking. Candidates must be flexible and able to work under pressure, and also as part of a wider team including volunteers.
