At Herriot Hospice Homecare, we specialise in supporting people with terminal illness who live across a 1000 sq. mile area of rural North Yorkshire. We are currently looking for positive, motivated, professional and compassionate people to join our team. We have opportunities for guaranteed contracted hours or bank work for a more flexible work pattern.
Our rates of pay are competitive and include paid time for travel and training in addition to direct care hours.
As part of the Herriot Hospice Health Care Assistant Team, you will visit people in their own homes, providing practical care or emotional support in line with their care plan, supporting patients and carers with choices about their care. You will be responsible for making accurate records of support provided and reporting back on anything which impacts upon the patient care.
You will need to hold NVQ level 2 in Health and Social care as a minimum and either hold level 3 or be prepared to work towards it, along with experience of health care work in the community, an understanding of safeguarding, and be sensitive yet maintain boundaries. You must be able to travel around the area to patient’s homes, be prepared to be flexible, cope under pressure and remain motivated.
