Location:

Reeth, Richmondshire and surrounding areas (commutable from Darlington, Hawes, Northallerton, Thirsk, Leyburn, Bedale and Ripon)

Salary:   

£24,375 pro rata + mileage paid

£12.50 per hour for bank staff (£12.75 after probation)

Hours: 

Up to 40 hours per week (part-time and full-time positions, or bank)

Contract:

Permanent or bank

In the role, you will receive a competitive salary of £24,375 per annum (pro rata for part-time), rising to £24,862.50 on successful completion of probation with part-time and full-time positions available, 35 days paid holiday per year and mileage is paid.

We are happy to support those starting out in their social care career, however candidates will need to have some experience of the care environment, understand patient-centred care and have the confidence to work independently within the community. Knowledge of infection prevention and control, safeguarding best practices and health and safety will also be required in the role.

 

Herriot in Reeth is provided by Herriot Hospice Homecare, working with North Yorkshire County Council and local GP practices. The service, a first-of-its-kind pilot, sees support workers provide social care support to enable people living in Reeth and surrounding villages to remain at home, rather than be admitted to hospital or care facilities.

Visits will be variable times and lengths each day. Candidates will need to have a driving license and access to their own vehicle to travel between patient addresses.
