Herriot Hospice Homecare is inviting families across its communities to join together online as part of its Light up a Life service, including music, readings and time for reflection to support local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.
Those who wish to remember loved ones can dedicate a light on the charity’s online tree, sharing special messages while making a donation to support Herriot Hospice Homecare’s care in the place people call home.
Tributes so far remember mums, dads, siblings and friends who have touched the lives of people across Hambleton and Richmondshire, and whose memories continue to shine on.
Herriot Hospice Homecare’s virtual service this weekend follows successful in-person services in St Mary’s Church, Thirsk and Ripon Cathedral last weekend.
Tony Collins, Herriot Hospice Homecare’s Chief Executive, said: “We are looking forward to the return of our special virtual service on Sunday December 12.
“While it has been wonderful to welcome those for whom the time is right in person, we also know that for others, joining us from the comfort and safety of their own home, alongside their family and friends, will be a space to remember that feels right to them. Like all that we do, Light up a Life is here for people as individuals.
“Our team has been busy recording special stories from our community and musical performances across the district which will make for a memorable and meaningful afternoon this Sunday.
“We are so grateful for every dedication we receive via our virtual Light up a Life tree. Each donation will help us make a real difference to local families in need by giving the gift of care this Christmas.”
The special service takes place at 5.30pm on Sunday December 12 via www.herriothh.org.uk. To make an online dedication and remember loved ones, visit www.visufund.com/herriot-hospice-light-up-a-life-2021 or call (01609) 777 413.Article Posted 7th December 2021
