Light up a Life 2021

Light up a Life 2021

A time to remember. A space to be you.

Our Light up a Life remembrance services are meaningful occasions for our community to gather together, remember loved ones and recollect on the past months as well as hope for the future. They have offered the opportunity to dedicate a light on our tree to someone special, take a few moments to remember and to support the care that we provide for people living with terminal illness and bereavement.

Dedicate a light to someone special…

See your loved one’s light shining brightly together with hundreds of other beautiful and unique tributes on our online tree. You can add a photo and personal message, and share the link to your dedication with friends and family.

In line with Ripon Cathedral’s current safety measures, please book your free place for this event prior to attending at on Eventbrite here.

Please note, we will make the link for this service available closer to the time.

Apart from our service at Ripon Cathedral, you are welcome to attend our services without prior booking.

Looking after our community in light of Covid-19

We are working hard to make sure our Light up a Life events are as Covid-safe as possible. Please follow the guidelines in place.

In line with St Mary's Church and Ripon Cathedral’s respective safety measures, we ask that face coverings are worn when moving around the Cathedral but may be removed once seated (unless exempt). We will have face coverings available should you need one. We will be encouraging everyone to keep a safe and respectful distance from each other, and you may social distance when seated in pews if you wish. There will also be hand gel available to sanitise your hands.

An NHS Track and Trace System is in place at St Mary’s and available to use.

If you are feeling unwell, showing symptoms of Covid-19, have tested positive for Covid-19 or are required by any other Government guidance to self-isolate, please stay at home where you are welcome you to take part in Light up a Life online with our virtual service taking place on December 12.

We are keeping an eye on the current circumstances regarding Covid-19, with the safety and comfort of our community our absolute priority. We ask that you please check our website, social media and your emails where we will share any updates should our plans for the services be changed.

We encourage our community to check this website and keep up to date with the latest government guidance at: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.

Thank you in advance for helping us to keep everyone safe and our Light up a Life events running.

At the heart of Light up a Life are those who have died and we continue to love. Each person unique, and each life of enormous value.

Like all that we do, Light up a Life is here for you as an individual. Whether you need to laugh, cry, be surrounded by people or spend time in quiet reflection, Light up a Life is a space to remember loved ones and reflect, however feels right for you.
