Fashion show raises £964
The show, at Richmondshire Cricket Club, raised £964, which will be split between Herriot Hospice Homecare and the Diocese of Middlesbrough Lourdes Fund.
One hundred tickets were sold for the event which included a ‘catwalk’ based on three themes – casual clothing, evening wear and special occasions, e.g. wedding dresses.
Among the people modelling the clothes was 90-year-old Patsy Barningham. This wasn’t her first catwalk, after previously modelling for Women’s Weekly magazine aged 82.
The clothes, for men, women and children, were made available to buy at the end of the evening.
As well as the fashion show, there were stalls, Zumba, refreshments and a raffle.
Organiser Sue Rees said: “It was a fantastic night and it was amazing to raise money for two very worthwhile causes.
“The money will enable the Diocese of Middlesbrough to send a registered nurse to to support a pilgrim to Lourdes.”
Paula Moore,Fundraiser at Herriot Hospice Homecare, said: “We would like to thank all our supporters and everyone who attended.
"The money will go towards providing vital services to people living with terminal illness and bereavement across Richmondshire and Hambleton.”
