As we continue putting the finishing touches to Herriot Hospice@The Lambert to begin serving our community as soon as possible, we’re shining a light on the people who will power the facility’s care and support.

Lynda Green, our Head of Nursing Services (left) and Dr Jenny Smith, our Medical Director (right), will be responsible for Herriot Hospice@The Lambert’s inpatient hospice care, and both work with Saint Michael’s Hospice, part of Herriot’s family of services.
Lynda said: “Together we are responsible for leading our clinical teams to provide specialist inpatient palliative care and symptom management to patients at Herriot Hospice@The Lambert, and we have made huge strides in recruiting a fantastic team to deliver this care as soon as we are able.
“Once open, Herriot Hospice@The Lambert will allow patients across Hambleton and Richmondshire to receive specialist inpatient hospice care – and more widely increased outpatient, bereavement and emotional wellbeing support – closer to home, rather than traveling out of area.”
Jenny said: “The opening of the much-loved and transformed former Lambert Memorial Hospital as Herriot Hospice@The Lambert will provide a local base for vital support, and an opportunity to further increase our work with professional colleagues in the area to support the best possible outcomes and choices for patients living with terminal illness.
“We are passionate about providing excellent care for patients, in the right place and at the right time, and I’m pleased Herriot Hospice@The Lambert will allow us to reach local people when they most need us.”
