On the 5th of July 2014 the Tour De France came to Yorkshire and what a fantastic weekend it was. Everywhere you looked you saw bunting, spray painted yellow bikes and flags galore. The weather was perfect and millions of people traveled to come see it.
We are so proud that we were able to play a small part in the festivities. We began by asking our volunteers and local WIs to bake cakes for us to sell. Thank you so much to everyone who answered the call and supported Herriot Hospice Homecare does Grinton Moor, we raised over £2,700 selling refreshments and homemade cakes. A special thank you must go to our volunteers on the day and everyone who baked for us (Sam Barker, Nora Atkinson, Carlton Miniott WI, Romanby WI and Danby Wiske WI) we couldn't have done it without you all.
