Green fingered supporters launch festive charity single
We all love a festive tune – Last Christmas, All I Want for Christmas and now….Sprouts!
Our green-fingered supporters, The Allotmenteers, have released a fabulous festive single, with proceeds supporting a trio of charities, including Herriot Hospice Homecare.
The Allotmenteers are a Northallerton-based group of old friends and veg growers who, led by Jon Stephenson, came together in 2020 to ‘grow some positivity’, donating proceeds from the sale of their produce to charity.
When their friend Paul Brennan was cared for by Herriot Hospice Homecare before his death in November 2019, the group set up a memorial fund to thank the charity for the support and comfort they offered Paul and his family.

Jon said: “A massive thanks to all our friends and families for their love and support and to the mighty Tears for Fears for allowing us to use (and abuse!) one of the most influential anthems of all time.”
Jon is pictured here, presenting a cheque from the sale of produce earlier this year to Lucy Turner from Herriot Hospice Homecare and so far The Allotmenteers have raised over £1,000 in Paul's memory.
