Afternoon tea and fizz

A farm-based children’s nursery will be popping the corks and getting out the fine china to raise money for its charity of the year.

High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton is staging an ‘afternoon tea and fizz’ event on Sunday 11th June at 3pm.

The event is being held to raise money for Herriot Hospice Homecare, which is the nursery’s charity of the year for 2017.

It will take place in a gazebo at the home of High Bank’s owner’s Angus and Lesley Thompson.

Mrs Thompson said: “We chose Herriot as our first-ever charity of the year because they do such amazing work in our community and in our first event, a Christmas fayre, we raised £700 for the charity.

“We are now hoping our afternoon tea and fizz themed event will raise even more and it promises to be a fantastic day.”

People who pay £10 to attend the event will be treated to an afternoon tea consisting of cakes, sandwiches, prosecco and tea/coffee. Tickets, priced £10, are available by emailing Lesley Thompson or calling 01325 365883.
