The 24.5 mile route takes in the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingelborough and it is aimed to complete it within 12 hours.

The ‘Jubilee Express’ will depart Leeming Bar station on Friday, 1^st June, 

Tickets are on sale now, at £25 which includes the return fare on a Diesel hauled train from Leeming Bar to the end of the line at Redmire. Prices include beer tasting with Hambleton Ales on route, a trackside Dales hog roast at Redmire, ice cream, individual guest party packs, hand pulled ales and bar on board musical entertainment throughout.

SUPPORTERS of Herriot Hospice Homecare will be wrapping up warm and sporting their walking boots for a poignant walk on May 12^th.

Organisers hope that the Midnight Walk, which has become an annual fundraising event for the charity, will be bigger and better than ever for this, Herriot Hospice Homecare’s 20^th anniversary year.The Northallerton charity helps patients with life-limiting illness in their own homes throughout Hambleton and Richmondshire.

Prior to the nine-mile moonlit stroll around Northallerton, walkers have the chance to reflect on loved ones lost, with the opportunity to release environmentally-friendly Wish Lanterns in their memory.

Registration for the event, which costs £8, is now open. A minimum donation of £5 is requested for a lantern.

The walk will start and finish at the charity’s offices in Thurston Road where refreshments will be served after the walks conclusion.

Walkers are asked to raise funds for the charity by getting as much sponsorship as possible.

Last year more than 40 supporters took part in the event and raised £2,558 towards the Herriot Hospice Homecare’s running costs. This year, Herriot Hospice Homecare is hoping to attract even more walkers – and money.

The winner will receive a fabulous Lewis and Cooper hamper and then bunny will set off on his travels to their Yarm and Harrogate branches!

The bunny is then kindly being donated to the charity for us to auction at a later date!

We are chartering an afternoon ride on the Wensleydale Railway on Sunday, March 18. This Mothering Sunday special will take a scenic tour through Wensleydale, from Leeming Bar to Redmire, near Leyburn. The picturesque views will be accompanied by relaxing  music and a delicious afternoon tea of scones, sandwiches and cakes.

The  train will depart from Leeming Bar station at 12.00pm, returning at 2.40pm. Tickets are £20 per adult and £15 for under-16s.
